WordPress started a block-based approach starting from WordPress 5.0 release. All WordPress releases after WordPress 5.0 has a Gutenberg editor instead of the classic TinyMCE (WYSIWYG) editor.
The Gutenberg WordPress editor, also called the WordPress block editor, is a new drag and drop editor which works as a page builder. It contains many prebuilt ready-to-use components/sections called blocks. With the help of this editor, users can easily customize/design posts and pages without touching any code or needing any developer assistance.
WordPress block editor already contains many frequently used blocks by default. Users can also add additional blocks with help of plugins. And, with each new release, WordPress supports additional advance blocks by default which we used to get only with plugins.
Here, I am listing all available defaults blocks in WordPress Gutenberg Editor. So that you can easily identify what you can get in the default editor, and what you have to get through the additional plugins.
I will also update this post with available new blocks and WordPress versions on each release.
Additionally, we can save previously customized blocks as reusable blocks to use in the future.
